Very often, crime novels have plot lines that highlight a hero/heroine, usually the police detective or FBI agent assigned to the case. They solve the case, defeat evil and catch the bad guy. We only see the aftermath of the crime. We don’t see the victim as a person. In 46 St Smash, Petrone takes a different and compelling approach. We don’t join the story after something terrible happens, but before it does. Petrone introduces us to a group of friends as they navigate relationship and career ups and downs. They are just everyday New Yorkers from a variety of backgrounds - working, loving and partying - never thinking that evil is living among them. A great read that kept my attention to the very end!Product details

This was a fun book about a group of friends in New York City leading up to wild and crazy ending.
What a fun and interesting read! It's a smash )
46ST Smash took NYC living to life!
A brilliantly executed character rich dissection of New York subculture, with a thrilling, albeit shocking climax. Reflecting on the narrative leaves you with pause; the unfortunate events not entirely a work of fiction. Thoroughly enjoyed, highly recommend!
Fantasic book by a promising new author. Without giving away the details - this is based on a true story that made headlines in New York City. Give it a try!
It was good read for the plane ride to Las Vegas. The characters and the descriptions of how they moved through life's window (employment, unemployment, socialization, networking) was relatable. The book held my interest from the take-off to landing. I like the printed font size for those with not as perfect 20/20 vision.
Good job and I hope to see more
Petrone weaves a fantastic narrative throughout his inaugural novel leaving the reader full of emotion. By the time we discover whodunit, we are deeply in love with many of his characters and hate or feel sorry for others. This is a story that anyone living in a new place for the first time can deeply relate to freedom, isolation, scarcity, love, loss, and perhaps most importantly, life. Those that have never lived in NYC will come to understand, and even appreciate, how intimate and interconnected the Big Apple really is--for better or worse...
